INTRODUCTION
HUMSS
The Humanities and Social Sciences strand is one of the academic tracks of senior high school in the Philippines. This strand focuses on oral communication, media and information, and enhancing your reading and writing skills. There is a lot of research and presentation involved in this strand too.
WHAT IS HUMANITIES
Humanities are defined as the branches of learning that have a cultural character. Any subject that covers, in some way, human culture, can be considered a humanity. This includes the history of art, classics, history, literature, performing arts, philosophy, theology and even anthropology.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO STUDY HUMANITIES
What You Need to Know
Through the work of humanities scholars, we learn about the values of different cultures, about what goes into making a work of art, about how history is made. Their efforts preserve the great accomplishments of the past, help us understand the world we live in, and give us tools to imagine the future.
WHAT IS SOCIAL SCIENCES
Social sciences are a group of academic disciplines dedicated to examining society. This branch of science studies how people interact with each other, behave, develop as a culture, and influence the world.

The Story
HUMSS is more on the liberal arts. It has a lot of science courses but it still focuses on the liberal arts. A lot of the students that takes this strand aspire to be a psychologist, lawyer and even a police officer someday. More than that to be honest.. You will have a bigger opportunity when it comes job offers when you finish up this strand. Because there are a lot of courses under HUMSS.
HUMSS IS NOT EASY!
Some people say that when you take our strand, you don't have any plans in becoming successful in life, or maybe we just took this strand because it doesn't really have any calculus or math as a major subject. Those are all misconceptions! We do have our math subject and I'm telling it is not easy and it will never be! We don't have any pre cal or calculus in our math but man i'm telling you, our lessons in math requires a lot of patience and critical thinking...
but Im sure we will get through this altogether.

The HUMSS strand revolves around improving the students reading, writing and one of the benefit of this is your speaking skills will enhance and your it will help you to boost your confidence. People choose this strand because they are aspiring member of the society that will help their fellow.
